The Perversion of Values
by Peter Fritz Walter
Dropping a Napalm bomb on a group of children in Vietnam was never really considered as a serious act of violence, while a man who wants to spend an afternoon with a child and takes her in his car for some hours, and brings her back, will be charged with one of the highest-violent crimes we know and which is called child kidnapping.
In the first case the children were burnt to death and there was no charge, in the second case the child went home safely with no hurt and the guy gets a life sentence.
So where are the standards for violence?
